A passenger fast ferry links Fethiye harbour with Rhodes Town, and the crossing takes roughly 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes depending on the source and the boat. In 2026 Tilos Travel’s Sea Star catamarans sailed daily from late April to late October, with a reduced pattern in spring and winter. It is a longer and less frequent crossing than Marmaris–Rhodes, but it saves people staying around Fethiye, Ölüdeniz or Göcek a long drive.
Quick answer
- Crossing time: About 1 h 25 min to 1 h 45 min. Tilos Travel’s timetable says about 1 h 45 min, its ticket page says 1 h 30 min, and Ferryhopper’s fastest listing is 1 h 25 min. İDO’s boat was reported at about 2 hours when it launched in 2025.
- Season: In 2026 there was a daily morning boat from Fethiye from 27 April to 24 October, a second daily boat from 22 May to 20 September, and sailings on selected days in spring and winter. The 2026–27 winter timetable was not published on Tilos Travel’s site when we checked.
- Who runs it: Tilos Travel (Sea Star boats; booking sites also show the operator as Makri Travel). Ferryhopper and Direct Ferries also list İDO and Sky Marine.
- Fares: Ertürk lists €55 one way, €75 same-day return and €85 different-day return for adults (as of October 2026).
- No cars: Passengers only. Ertürk’s fare table lists bicycles but no cars, and Ferryhopper says the boats have no car deck.
- Documents: A passport. You leave Turkey and enter the Schengen Area at Rhodes, so non-EU travellers go through the EU Entry/Exit System (EES).

Who operates the route
- Tilos Travel / Makri Travel. Tilos Travel publishes the Fethiye–Rhodes timetable on its own site and sells tickets online. Ferryhopper lists the same service under the operator name Makri Travel. Makri Travel’s own website describes itself as a ferry ticket seller for Fethiye–Rhodes and other routes. In practice this is the main year-round service.
- İDO. İDO began sailing Fethiye–Rhodes on 31 May 2025, with an 08:30 departure from Fethiye and a 17:30 return from Rhodes, according to Capital. In March 2026 İDO announced that it would continue the route with more sailings, and said its Rhodes and Leros routes were planned from mid-May to the end of September. We could not open a 2026 timetable on İDO’s own website, so check there or with a booking site.
- Sky Marine. Direct Ferries and Ferryhopper list Sky Marine on this route, with a hydrofoil and a small number of sailings a week, mostly outside high summer on Ferryhopper’s monthly table. We could not find an official Sky Marine website to confirm its 2026 sailings.
2026 timetable (Tilos Travel)
Tilos Travel’s timetable page shows these sailings. It gives departure times only; arrival times below are estimates using the 1 h 45 min it states.
| Period | From Fethiye | From Rhodes | Days |
|---|---|---|---|
| 29 March – 26 April 2026 | 08:25 | 16:30 | Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun |
| 27 April – 24 October 2026 | 08:25 | 16:30 | Daily (Sea Star Lindos) |
| 22 May – 20 September 2026 | 16:30 | 08:25 | Daily, second boat (Sea Star Tilos) |
A morning boat from Fethiye at 08:25 reaches Rhodes at about 10:10. The 16:30 from Rhodes is back in Fethiye at about 18:15.
Winter
The winter table on Tilos Travel’s site is still the one for 15 November 2025 to 28 March 2026: departures from Fethiye at 08:25 on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and from Rhodes at 15:00 on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Ferryhopper also lists the route all year, with fewer days a week in winter, and its table notes that it is based on the previous year’s data. When we checked, Tilos Travel’s booking calendar showed one sailing a day in each direction up to 25 October 2026. What happens between late October and mid-November, and the exact 2026–27 winter days, was not published, so ask the operator before you plan.
Watch the clocks
Turkey stays on UTC+3 all year. Greece moves its clocks back one hour on 25 October 2026, so from then until 28 March 2027 Rhodes is one hour behind Fethiye. Check whether the time on your ticket is Turkish or Greek time.
Tickets and the port
Fares and booking
Ertürk’s Fethiye–Rhodes fare table (stamped 14 October 2026) shows:
| Passenger | One way | Same-day return | Different-day return |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adult (10+) | €55 | €75 | €85 |
| Child (3–10) | €27.50 | €37.50 | €42.50 |
| Infant (0–3) | €5 | €5 | €5 |
Ferryhopper advertises fares “from €27.50” on this route, which matches the child one-way fare above; its monthly table shows lowest adult fares of roughly €35–55 depending on the month (as of October 2026, based on previous-year data). Tilos Travel’s own ticket page does not print fares and asks you to use its search form.
You can book with Tilos Travel online, with Ertürk, or through Ferryhopper and Direct Ferries. Children and infants need their own ticket, according to Tilos Travel.
There is no packaged GetYourGuide day trip from Fethiye to Rhodes that we could confirm, so buying the ferry ticket yourself is the way to go. If you would prefer a hotel-pickup package, those exist from Marmaris (see the Rhodes day trip from Marmaris).
At the port
- Tilos Travel says check-in at the port should be done one hour before departure, and you must be on board 15 minutes before the boat leaves.
- Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the travel date, Tilos Travel says.
- Expect security screening, check-in for your boarding pass and then Turkish exit passport control in Fethiye.
- In Rhodes you go through Greek border control at a Schengen external border. Allow extra time when EES registration is busy.
- Rhodes uses the euro. Bring a card and some cash.

Passports and visas
EU and UK travellers
- Leaving Turkey: You pass Turkish exit control in Fethiye. If you entered Turkey on a single-entry visa or e-Visa, check that you can get back in.
- Entering Greece: Rhodes is in the Schengen Area. EU and EEA citizens can travel with a passport or national ID card. Since 10 April 2026 the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) has been fully operational: non-EU short-stay visitors have fingerprints and a facial image recorded instead of a passport stamp. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens are not registered. GOV.UK says Greek authorities have indicated they will not take biometrics from UK travellers; follow the officials at the border.
- Back into Turkey: UK citizens can visit Turkey visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180 days, and GOV.UK says the passport must be valid for at least 150 days from arrival. Other nationalities should check the Turkish foreign ministry’s visa page or apply at the official e-Visa site.
Our day trips to Turkey hub covers EES, ETIAS and the clocks in more detail.
Turkish citizens
Turkish citizens without a Schengen visa can use the Greek “visa express” scheme for Rhodes, applied for through the ferry company before travel. Tilos Travel offers it from Fethiye, but its page says it cannot be used for a day trip. This scheme does not apply to foreign tourists.
Fethiye or Marmaris?
| Fethiye–Rhodes | Marmaris–Rhodes | |
|---|---|---|
| Crossing | About 1 h 25 – 1 h 45 | About 50–60 min |
| Main operator | Tilos Travel (Sea Star) | Yeşil Marmaris Lines |
| Adult same-day return | €75 (Ertürk, Oct 2026) | €60 (Yeşil Marmaris, Oct 2026) |
| Summer frequency | Daily, two boats in high summer | Several crossings a day |
| Winter | A few days a week | A few days a week |
If you are staying in Fethiye, Ölüdeniz or Hisarönü, the Fethiye boat is the obvious choice. From Dalaman Airport the airport bus reaches Fethiye in about an hour, so the Fethiye port is also handy if you fly in. Marmaris has more sailings and a shorter crossing. Our Marmaris to Rhodes ferry guide covers that route, and the Fethiye travel guide covers the town itself.

Is a day trip possible?
Yes, in the main season. With the 2026 summer timetable you arrive at about 10:10 and leave at 16:30, which gives you around six hours port to port. Take off time for border control on both sides and for being back at the port early, and you have about four and a half to five hours in town. That is enough for the medieval Old Town, the Street of the Knights and the Palace of the Grand Master, but not for Lindos as well.
In the 2025–26 winter pattern, Wednesday and Friday had both a morning departure from Fethiye and an afternoon return from Rhodes. Check the clocks: the 15:00 Rhodes departure would be 16:00 in Turkey if it is Greek time.
The Rhodes day trip from Marmaris page has a sample timeline for the Old Town that works just as well from Fethiye.
What to do on Rhodes
- Medieval Old Town: A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988, with the walls and Gothic buildings of the Knights of St John next to Ottoman mosques and baths. It starts right beside the harbour.
- Palace of the Grand Master: Open 08:00–20:00 from 1 April to 31 October, then 08:30–15:30 and closed on Tuesdays in winter. Entry is €20 (Greek Ministry of Culture, as of October 2026).
- Lindos: About 47 km away, around 55 minutes by car. Worth an overnight stay rather than a squeeze on a day trip.
- Elli beach and Mandraki harbour: Both within walking distance of the Old Town.
The ferry does not take cars, so rent one on Rhodes if you want to explore the island.

Our where to stay in Rhodes guide compares the Old Town, New Town, Faliraki and Lindos. If you want to sleep near the port before an early boat, stay in central Fethiye; Ölüdeniz and Hisarönü are a dolmuş or taxi ride away. For island ideas from Rhodes, see the Symi day trip from Rhodes.
